Terms of Service
By installing or using ContextShift, you agree to these terms. They are written plainly — no tricks.
Plain English summary: ContextShift is a personal project shared publicly — not a company product. It works well and your data never leaves your device. The Pro license is a one-time payment for the current feature set. I'm one person maintaining this on a best-effort basis, with no guarantees of indefinite future support. If you're not happy within 14 days, get a full refund through Lemon Squeezy. — The Cynic Dev
1. What ContextShift is
ContextShift is a browser extension available for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, developed and maintained by Bruno Santos, trading as ContextShift ("we", "us"). It helps organise browser tabs into named workspaces using the native browser tab group feature.
ContextShift began as a personal tool and is shared publicly as a useful utility. It is maintained on a best-effort basis by one person.
2. License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ContextShift on devices you own or control.
The Free tier may be used indefinitely within its feature limits. A Pro license gives one individual user access to Pro features and is not transferable.
3. What you may not do
- Reverse engineer or redistribute ContextShift's source code
- Sell, sublicense, or transfer your license to another person
- Attempt to circumvent the license verification or trial system
4. Pro license
A Pro license is a one-time purchase that grants access to Pro features as they exist at the time of purchase. We will maintain and update the extension on a best-effort basis for as long as development continues.
We make no guarantee of indefinite support or compatibility with future Chrome, Firefox, or Edge versions. Browser extensions are subject to platform changes outside our control. If development is permanently discontinued, no refund will be issued for purchases made more than 14 days prior, but your installed version will continue to function until browser platform changes prevent it.
In the event that development is permanently discontinued, an End of Life announcement will be posted on this website. This announcement will confirm the date after which no further updates or support will be provided, and will remain accessible for a minimum of 12 months.
5. Trial period
New installs receive a 7-day free trial of all Pro features. After the trial ends, the extension reverts to the Free tier unless a Pro license has been activated. No payment is taken automatically.
6. Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. Refunds are handled by Lemon Squeezy. See our Refund Policy for details.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
ContextShift is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee that the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with any current or future version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or any other browser. There is no obligation to provide uptime, maintenance, or support for any specific browser version or operating system.
This extension is maintained by one person in their spare time. There are no guaranteed response times, uptime commitments, or service level agreements of any kind. The extension may stop functioning at any time due to platform changes outside our control.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bruno Santos shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of ContextShift, including loss of browser tab data. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.
ContextShift auto-saves workspace snapshots, but you are responsible for anything you consider critical data.
Workspace data is stored in your browser's local storage and is tied to your browser profile. Data may be lost if you clear your browser data, reset your browser, switch to a different browser profile, or if your device fails. ContextShift provides automatic snapshots as a convenience but these are also stored locally. For data you consider important, use the Markdown export feature to save a copy outside the extension.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected with an updated date above. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal.
